Three Stone Sapphire & Diamonds Ring - Case Study
It’s no secret that creating custom handmade jewelry is Israel-Diamonds’ specialty. As a way of demonstrating our skills, we would like to share a story about a beautiful ring we made for a very happy customer. This is the message we received from the customer:

Hi, I am interested in a sapphire engagement ring very similar to the images I sent you, but instead of half moon accent diamonds, I would prefer two trillion cut diamonds.

Centre Stone - 1.75 carat Oval Blue Sapphire - Royal Blue
Side Stones - Trillion Diamonds 0.3 carats each

For the setting style I prefer a more interwoven or trellis style look as opposed to a very square looking setting. I am looking for something similar to the side view image I sent.

Could you also price the ring out in platinum as well

Thanks,
Michael

The first challenge was finding a stunning center oval sapphire and two matching trillion shape diamonds that would look perfect together.

The Diamonds:

Our vast diamond and gemstone inventory combined with numerous jeweler connections allows us to find almost any diamond or gemstone a client may request. After a thorough search, we found 2 beautifully matched trillion shape diamonds, which weighed a total of 0.40 carats with a color grade of E and clarity of VS1.

The Sapphire:

The center stone was a gorgeous royal blue oval Ceylon sapphire from Sri Lanka, weighing 2.47 carats. This stone was in our inventory for only three months and was a great find, as it became the perfect match for our client’s taste. The diamond pair juxtaposed with the sapphire created a brilliant sparkle.

The prongs:

Prongs are the little claws that hold that stones in place. Different stone shapes require different styles and positions of prongs. In this case we positioned as follows:

The Setting:

For the unique style of setting the client requested our jewelers created a custom wax from a mold:

Creating the wax helps professional jewelers match the exact shape the client requests. Using a special plaster, we cover the wax mold then heat it to extract the wax while filling the void with 18K white gold. As you can see below, the result is a beautiful white gold setting.

The Ring:

While placing the stones in the setting, it was clear to us that this is a very unique ring. The style and quality blended to create an eye-catching piece of jewelry that is distinctive and met all of our customer’s special requests.

We were very happy with the result and were extra delighted to receive the following thank you letter from our client:

Dealing with Israel Diamonds has been an excellent experience. Their customer service is top notch. I had the pleasure of dealing with Brad every step of the way, and he catered to all my needs with much patience. The ring was customized to my exact specs, and I was sent pictures of moulds along the way. I am in awe of their online selection of stones. Any retail store I've been to had a poor selection of blue sapphires, and would only offer me a handful to choose from. I wasted so much gas driving around looking at stones, and getting the run around. Not one store I went
